2010 highlights

BLACKFISH 2: Homer released in March with concert in Tulsa, OK. Stay tuned for September release of BLACKFISH 3: Tulsa.

Choreographer Emily Johnson's The Thank-you Bar, created in collaboration with James Everest and Joel Pickard, tours to Portland, OR, Chicago, IL, and Minneapolis, MN in Fall 2010. BLACKFISH concerts accompany the tour. more info

The Sensational Joint Chiefs enjoyed gigs in 2009, but will be slowing down in 2010 to raise young children. (congrats Dave & Bryan!)

The Sans Le Systeme record, TUNER, should finally be released in 2010, after many delays. details pending.

Lateduster will continue to sporadically work on new music together (when we're all in the same city) and apart, and we're hoping to play some shows, too. We talk about it often.

The MAKING MUSIC conversations series celebrates its 5 Year Anniversary in Spring 2010, with host James Everest and guests Alan Sparhawk (LOW), Dave King (THE BAD PLUS), Mankwe Ndosi (ATMOSPHERE) and SO Percussion. more info

Founded in 1997, Firetrunk is run by independent musicians, including Lateduster, The Sensational Joint Chiefs, Sans Le Systeme, JG Everest, THE BRYAN OLSON JAZZ GROUP, DJ Celine Dijon & The Dijonettes, The Rolex Twinz, and The Viking Fog Attack. FTR also supports related groups FOG (Andrew Broder - ninja tune/ LEX) DOSH (Martin Dosh - Anticon), NEOTROPIC (Riz Maslen - MUSH), VICIOUS VICIOUS, sister label GROOVE GARDEN RECORDS, and FTR-sponsored events like the SOUNDUNSEEN FILM & MUSIC FESTIVAL, CROSSFADED THURSDAYS live soundtracks series at The DINKYTOWNER CAFE, MAKING MUSIC conversations series at The University of Minnesota, and CAPTURE! dance film series at the Bryant Lake Bowl Theatre - all in Minneapolis.
