Winner "Best RnB Album"
1999 MN Music Awards

On their highly anticipated second album, Lost Stepchild, The Sensational Joint Chiefs continue to refine their sound from the roots up. By further exploring their flexibility (four distinct singer songwriters/ multi-instrumentalists) and their newfound enthusiasm for studio experimentation, the SJCs  have created a wildly diverse record without losing their trademark sound or groove.

Self-produced and entirely recorded in home studios, Lost Stepchild is a warm and moody record, with a dynamic range of song styles and sonic adventure.  Alternately tripped out, funky, crunchy, and catchy, Lost Stepchild is a darker, more mature record than its vivacious predecessor, Mornin' Train. Produced by Jeremy "Ylvis3" Ylvisaker & The SJCs with Rich Mattson.   Winner "Best R&B Recording" at 1999 Minnesota Music Awards.
